Scrap Art Sculpture Contest |

Calling all scrap artists! We want your recycled creations for the second annual Scrap Art Sculpture Contest. Sculptures will be voted on during the April 24 Earth Day celebration and the winner will be announced on April 25. The winning artists will receive a trophy and Behind-the-Scenes tour.
- The contest is open to individuals and groups (up to 15 individuals) of all ages
- All scrap art sculptures must be marine themed
- The sculpture must consist of at least 75% reusable goods
- All reusable goods used in the sculpture must be cleaned prior to use
- Sculptures must not have any sharp edges
- Sculptures should be no larger than 30 inches long by 30 inches wide by 60 inches tall
- Sculptures should be no heavier than 25 pounds and must stand on its own
- All art submission must be dropped off between 9:00am - 5:00pm on April 23

Give back to the environment by joining us for a coastal clean-up on April 17 from 9:00am to noon at Bluff Point State Park and or from 1 to 4pm at Barn Island in Stonington.

Not Just Another Day at the Beach |

What is an invasive species and what impact do they have on Connecticut's native plant and animal species? Discover the answers as we explore the flora and fauna that reside at Bluff Point State Park on July 24 from 9:30am to 12:30pm. Working with aquarium staff, you will participate in population and water sampling activities to discover the unique relationships found within Long Island Sound.

Amphibian Monitoring Project |

Using amphibian vocalizations and sightings, project participants are collecting valuable data about the local amphibian population. Leap into action and attend our free, family-friendly AMP training on May 1 from 3:30 to 6:30pm to become a member of this exciting project, now in its third year. |

Join an amazing and fun group of teenagers interested in marine science and environmental conservation in our community. Family Horseshoe Crab Walk |

Learn more about these living fossils and the role they play in our local ecosystem as we head to the beach to count these animals during the full moon Family Horseshoe Crab Watch. On June 12 from 7:00 to 10:00 pm, aquarium staff will take you on a stroll down the bay side of Napatree Point in Watch Hill, R.I, to witness this incredible phenomenon. Be prepared to get wet feet and hike a distance!
